Web Dev/Design Course

Express your Creativity through Coding!

Using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, our Web Dev/Design course will teach your 4th-8th graders how to make their very own website.

This introductory course emphasizes components of both creative design and technical learning – encouraging students to embrace teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving.

Our Web Dev/Design course covers web development and design from the basics of HTML/CSS to JavaScript fundamentals. HTML (HyperText Markup Language) is used to lay down the framework/structure, while CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) takes care of presentation, and JavaScript (JS for short) sets the behavior. These 3 components come together to give one a dynamic website!

We emphasize how best to “layer” these 3 components and why each one plays such an important role.

This course offers an intuitive, step-by-step guide of the basics to enable students to create simple web pages – covering page layout and style and then expanding to a variety of mini-projects which ultimately leads to a final project.

Our Web Dev/Design course covers a range of topics, including: reverse engineering; the art of web development; HTML elements and structures; embedding images, audio, and video, JavaScript arrays, conditionals, and functions; multi-page websites; and much more!
